Description
Sometimes unusual things can show up in digital images. A mysterious orb appeared in my sunset photo. The anomaly does not appear in a duplicate photo shot just seconds later. It does not look like a typical lens flare, internal camera reflection or reflective object in the air. It is known that in certain instances, digital cameras can be sensitive to normally unseen portions of the spectrum other than visible light.

Joseph Baril
Old Irish people used to say that colorful skies meant the weather wanted to harm. To them, colorful skies were a dire warning of bad weather to come. Hail, & tornadoes were followed by these skies within days. That's generational Irish folklore.
Rodger Painter replied:
I believe that much wisdom can be found in folklore, Joseph. I have often heard it said, "red sky at night, sailors' delight" meaning that good weather is to follow. Mammatus clouds, such as these in the photo sometimes appear following strong thunder storms. They are formed by cold air sinking down to form the pockets contrary to the puffs of clouds rising through the convection of warm air.
