The Gaffney Peachoid is a familiar landmark, roadside attraction to travelers along Highway I-85 in upstate South Carolina. The big peach is a 150-foot-tall, million-gallon water tank constructed in 1981 by the Board of Public Works. Gaffney is host to the annual South Carolina Peach Festival. Visitors can take Frontage Road off I-85 and visit Millwood Park for a closer look at the Peachoid. The view in this photograph is across the nearby pond, decorated by a spring Dogwood tree.

I really like this image Rodger, especially the composition and perspective. L/V
Rodger Painter replied:
Thank you, Kathy. I feel fortunate to have gotten it. This perspective is no longer available since the trees have grown up to cover the view from across the pond. I was also able to get a nighttime view with the Peachoid reflected in the pond. It is available on my page.
