Description
The Gaffney Peachoid is a familiar landmark, roadside attraction to travelers along Highway I-85 in upstate South Carolina. The big peach is a 150-foot-tall, million-gallon water tank constructed in 1981 by the Board of Public Works. Gaffney is host to the annual South Carolina Peach Festival. Visitors can take Frontage Road off I-85 and visit Millwood Park for a closer look at the Peachoid. The nighttime view in this photograph is across the nearby holding pond in which the Peachoid is reflected.

Spectacular Rodger. I’ve never stopped by the peach in all the years traveling to Myrtle Beach from Aiken.
Rodger Painter replied:
Thanks, Steve. You should stop by Millwood Park for a close-up view of the Peach. The area is especially beautiful when the nearby peach trees are in blossom.
